PROJECT INSIGHT

AUDI Brand Experience Center

The guiding principle of the German car manufacturer AUDI is “Vorsprung durch Technik” which means “progress through technology”. Since its foundation in 1899, AUDI AG has stood for sporty cars, high-quality workmanship and progressive design. When planning the fourth Brand Experience Center at Munich Airport, the company had precisely this mission statement in mind. The aim was to construct a modern and sustainable building in which AUDI employees could be informed about the new models and trained for sales talks. The completed building is the first at Munich Airport that generate its own electricity through building-integrated photovoltaics – a perfect example of AUDI’s pioneering spirit in technology.

The AUDI Brand Experience Center looks futuristic, the facades of the building cube consist of approximately 450m² of transparent PV modules with more than 1,650 solar cells. A total of 42,000 kWh of solar power can be generated annually, which corresponds to the annual consumption of ten 4-person households. In total, 118 custom-made PV panels from ertex solar in 32 different sizes were integrated into the façade.

Picture copyright: © peter zauner architektur

INNOVATIONS AWARD FOR THE COMPANY VULKANLAND METALL Project Kirchpark

After a construction period of one and a half years, the community of Kirchberg an der Raab has a new town centre, the so-called Kirchpark. In addition, two photovoltaic systems were installed, one is located on the roof of the company building, while the second was constructed as a roof for the pergola with solar modules from ertex solar. An output of eight kWp was installed at the pergola, a total of 34 handmade modules were installed.

The company Vulkanland Metall constructed the steel structure, manufactured the railings and installed the canopies. The company has now been awarded the special prize at the coveted innovation award of the “Styrian Vulkanland” for the Kirchpark project.
