Arrival Center Schönbrunn
With the construction of two components, Schönbrunn Palace received an Arrival Center, which is intended to guarantee an improved and more comfortable access to the world cultural heritage for both international and national visitors. After the completion of building phase 1, during which the Group Center, the bus parking space, the covered exit point and greenery were opened, building phase 2 was finalized on June 29th, 2020. With the commissioning of the second building phase, 230 parking spaces and ten electric charging stations have been made available to guests. Furthermore, a photovoltaic roof from ertex solar was installed at the parking space.
The photovoltaic system is located as a separate area in the northwestern part of the car park and was designed as a carport-like construction. A total of 120 laminated safety glass modules with an impressive size of 960x5000mm are integrated in the roof. Every single PV-module has a power of 600 Wp, overall the installed power amounts to 72 kWp. On the one hand, they generate electricity and, on the other hand, ensure that visitors are protected from the weather when they arrive – be it protection from the sun or rain.
The comfort and satisfaction of the visitors is of great importance for Schönbrunn. Another important factor in designing the Arrival Center was sustainability, therefore different measures e.g. installing a photovoltaic system, have been taken. All in all, the Arrival Center has been designed in a way that a relaxed arrival is possible.
